Japan Travel Awards 2025でAiAiiの藍染がサステイナブル部門の賞を受賞しました

AiAii won an award at the Japan Travel Awards 2025 as organised by Shiitake Creative. There were 196 entries from all across Japan, and 11 winners, so we feel pretty good about that! As well as businesses, whole cities, festivals, or landmarks could enter too so we were surprised to win as we are just a small family business. The category we won is “Best Sustainable Travel”. 

Shiitake Creative が主催する Japan Travel Awards 2025 で賞を受賞しました。日本全国から 196 件の応募があり、11 社が受賞したので、とてもうれしく思っています。企業だけでなく、都市全体、祭り、ランドマークも応募できたので、私たちは小さな個人事業主なので受賞には驚きました。私たちが受賞した部門は「ベスト サステナブル トラベル」です。

I was glad that the judges acknowledged that we provide an experience that is meaningfully connected to our location, accessible for people of different ages, cultures and abilities, considerate to the planet, and helps people think about what souvenirs they consume, or even how they shop in everyday life.

私たちが、その場所と有意義につながり、さまざまな年齢、文化、能力の人々が利用でき、地球に配慮し、人々がお土産に何を買うか、あるいは日常生活でどのように買い物をするかを考えるのに役立つ体験を提供していることを審査員が認めてくれたことを嬉しく思います。

They asked us if we deliberately tried to make a business that was accessible and sustainable but I think it just came naturally from our personal beliefs and interests. Figuring out our priorities as artists and business owners came first (although they are still evolving). Sharing our skills and creative process was a natural progression. That led to designing workshops for all kinds of students, from whatever background or age. Honestly, I’m just happy to meet all types of people in my work. The appeal of indigo is so varied as it encompasses chemistry, agriculture, art, fashion, local and global history and cultures. Naturally, all types of people become interested in some aspect of indigo dyeing, and that means every workshop I take can have a new angle. 

ジャパントラベルアワードは、私たちが意図的にアクセスしやすく持続可能なビジネスを作ろうとしたのかと尋ねましたが、それは私たちの個人的な信念と興味から自然に生まれたものだと思います。アーティストおよびビジネスオーナーとしての優先事項を理解することが最初にありました（ただし、まだ進化しています）。技術と制作過程を共有し、あらゆる背景や年齢のあらゆる種類の人にワークショップを提供することができています。正直なところ、仕事でさまざまなタイプの人々と出会えるのはうれしいことです。藍の魅力は、化学、農業、アート、ファッション、地域および世界の歴史と文化を網羅しているため、非常に多様です。当然、あらゆる種類の人々が藍染めの何らかの側面に興味を持つため、私が参加するワークショップにはそれぞれ新しい視点があります。

“A natural  indigo dyeing studio that grows and ferments its own indigo plants. Visitors can learn all the steps of indigo dyeing through Japanese-English bilingual workshops and dye and upcycle clothing items.

AiAii offers a fully circular travel experience, which includes growing indigo plants, creating fermented dye,  and conducting workshops with travelers from diverse backgrounds. AiAii's services inspire a re-examination of the excessive waste in the fashion industry and promote alternative, creative solutions to reduce pollution. This initiative encourages the concept of slow fashion, extending the life of our wearable products.”

藍の栽培と発酵を自ら行う天然藍染めの工房。来場者は、日英バイリンガルのワークショップを通じて藍染めの全工程を学び、衣類の染色やアップサイクルを行うことができます。

受賞理由：

持続可能性を重視した、教育的かつ娯楽的で充実した旅行体験を提供していること。AiAii は、藍の栽培、発酵染料をつくり、さまざまな背景を持つ旅行者とのワークショップの実施など、完全に循環型の旅行体験を提供しています。AiAii のサービスは、ファッション業界の過剰な廃棄物の再検討を促し、汚染を減らすための代替的で創造的な解決策を提案しています。この取り組みは、スローファッションの概念を奨励し、ウェアラブル製品の寿命を延ばすことを目的にしています。
